After breakfast and checking out from the hotel, we drove to a sporting goods store so I could buy a much needed sun hat. There we met up with Jared's parents, James and Ann. They had flown into Buffalo from Salt Lake the night before. We were excited to see them and spend a few days with them.
We picked up some lunch supplies and got auto fuel, then headed to Niagara Falls State Park. We found decent parking about a block away, then walked in. It was quite crowded and really hot. We walked out to the falls and they were impressive!

After admiring the falls for awhile, we walked the trail and across the bridge to Goat Island. It was pretty hot and sunny, and Anwyn wasn't feeling well. All of the children took turns riding in the stroller.
We decided to splurge and ride the Maid of the Mist boat to the base of the falls. Being in the boat was an exhilarating way to see the falls! We wore blue ponchos, otherwise we would have been soaked by the spray. It was interesting to note that the boat tours on the Canadian side wore red ponchos, so from the top you could tell which boats were Canadian and which were American.
The boat ride was about 15 minutes, and we luckily didn't have much of a wait. I think we had to wait longer to use the bathrooms (their bathroom facilities were a little lacking).
Adam wasn't quite sure what to make of this experience, especially all the wetness. Can you spy Grandpa in the background?

Riding the boat was really neat, and definitely a highlight of our whole road trip!

After the boat, everyone had had enough. We walked back to our car, then drove across Rainbow Bridge to the border crossing into Canada.
We got through the border without any difficulty and we were in Ontario, Canada. It was exciting to be in my home country of Canada, and it was the first time for all of us in Ontario. As we drove we had a few pretty views of Lake Ontario. We reached our hotel in a suburb of Toronto around dinnertime.
We discovered that we were staying in a very Asian area. All of the restaurants and businesses (and most of the people at the hotel) were Asian. So...we had some authentic asian takeout for dinner (they had intestines on the menu, which we didn't order). It was really good food.
Jared's parents stayed in the same hotel as us, and we visited with them a little before heading to bed.
We had a little time for snuggles and selfies before bed. We are just missing Anwyn, who was not feeling well and already asleep. :(
