Happy Father's Day 2015

We are thankful to celebrate the wonderful father's in our family! We have a wonderful Dad and two great grandpas!
The children and I made a little handprint tree as a gift. It was a bit of a challenge to get 2-month-old Adam's handprint (it took me and Anwyn and Lily working together).
Jared ended up making a lot of the meals today, since I was often busy feeding Adam. He made DAD biscuits and sausage for breakfast, and we worked together making Chicken Roll-ups for dinner. For dessert I made a tasty apple crisp.

This year, instead of our traditional Father's Day Interview, I opted for a printable version where the kids could write in their own answers.  The children know their dad pretty well. Lily and Zach both answered "He likes to go to...work", while Anwyn said "Utah".

Anwyn: I love my dad because..."he loves me."
Lily: I love my dad because..."he is funny."
Zach: I love my dad because..."he makes food for me."
Sweet baby Adam is just lovable.
We are sure grateful for this great guy in our lives!

Adam at two months

Adam is 2 months old.  He weighs 14 pounds 5 oz. and is 24.02 inches long (both weight and length are about 87th %ile). He used to be around 98th %ile for both so he's like our other kids and starting large with slower growth over time. He's a pleasant baby. He likes to take a nap in the mornings when Anwyn holds him and sings to him while Kristi showers. He still sleeps pretty well at night. Adam is becoming more vocal.

A Birthday and Blueberries

Jared celebrated his 35th birthday in June! We sure love this great guy!

Things we LOVE about Dad
1. He gives us piggy-back rides.
2. He helps us finish the Lego Harry Potter levels.
3. He does math problems with us.
3 and...
1. He makes good hamburgers-the best!
2. He makes delicious mashed potatoes.
3. He plays good music and videos for us.
4. He is kind and smart.
5. He reads stories and does snuggle time.
...5 =35!

For Jared's birthday dinner we had chicken enchiladas, spanish rice, salad, and lemon bars for dessert.

The next day we headed to the nearby blueberry farm. Picking berries in June is an annual family tradition in Florida. The berries were plentiful and delicious!

Preschool Graduation for Zach

Zach had a great year of preschool. He went to St. Michael's Day School, on MWF from 9-2. He had fabulous teachers and a great group of kids in his class.

At the end of the year they held a little preschool graduation. They had a short program with the kids singing songs and presenting diplomas. The kids all wore real graduation caps and gowns and tassels (a little over the top, especially since that was a hefty fee), but they did look cute.

Zach with his best friend, Ella. They are great friends, having good times riding carpool together and enjoying many playdates.
We are so proud of our little preschool graduate. He has learned a lot this year and has grown in so many ways. Now we are all looking forward to kindergarten!

Morning Mile Awards, Chorus, and the Last Day of School

The Morning Mile at our elementary school ended up being a great program for our family this year. Anwyn was motivated to run, and the rest of us caught her enthusiasm. We had to work hard to get to school early, usually by 7:10 a.m. (sometimes earlier if we were lucky). All the hard work paid off and was recognized at the end of the year awards ceremony.

They did a few ceremonies throughout the morning, broken up by class levels, so Adam and I went to Lily's first, and then Anwyn's. Lily had a total of 114.75 miles and she came in 2nd place for first grade girls! We were really excited for her, and she was pretty happy with her medal.

Anwyn logged 202.75 miles and she came in first for fourth grade girls!

Both girls put forth great effort, and we are thankful to have been able to have this great program at our school, supported by great teachers and parent volunteers.
Zach has also been a determined runner at morning mile. He didn't run every day, but he did go regularly and ran well. Two different days he completed 9 laps, which is over 2 miles (in 30 minutes)!

In May the school held a STEM night. Anwyn sang as a member of the Talbot Tiger Chorus.

The last day of school for the girls was on June 4th. These girls are ready for summer!
