Lily's Fun Birthday

On Monday we celebrated Lily's 2nd birthday. Kristi made a cute frog cake (Lily loves froggies!) from a pattern we found online.

We celebrated the day with just a little party here at home. Lily received a few presents but really liked the "froggy cake" the best.

We are thankful joyful Lily is part of our family. She has grown up so much in the past two years. Here are a few photos of the day so you can join in our celebration.

Happy Birthday Lily!

Today we are celebrating Lily's second birthday. She is a sweet little girl who recently learned to count "1-2".

She also loves to choose her own clothes (note the swimsuit over her t-shirt) and she likes to help around the house.

She is such a joy to have in our family!

A Halloween Story

Anwyn and I have been having fun the last few days with some Halloween activities. Yesterday she wrote and illustrated this cute story.

Trick-or-Treat
By Anwyn, nearly 5yrs old

One day I went outside on Halloween night to go trick-or-treating. And I am dressing up as a princess. And then we drove in the car to go to a trick-or-treat place. And then we go trick-or-treating. Well, I found chocolate candies and tootsie rolls and smarties and chewy candies and that’s all.

This is a song she learned in Preschool. She's been singing it for the last few weeks.

What We Did

Here are a few slideshows of the past few days. My parents came to visit so we did some fun things. We spent the night in Orlando and went to Animal Kingdom the next day.

We also went hiking around Gainesville to see alligators, birds, and bats as well as to experience the 90 degree weather and humidity.

Here are a few photos of the girls too.

Watching General Conference

We enjoyed watching General Conference (Jared took some notes of each session and posted them on his blog). The girls have been pretty good (it helps that #2 sleeps through some of the sessions). It's great to watch conference in high definition - we had no internet hiccups until Sunday morning, but switching over to BYU.tv for a talk or two fixed the problem.

Kristi put together some activities to keep the girls occupied. They did well until the last session, when they decided that climbing over the back of the couch was more fun.

Here are a few pictures of us watching Conference yesterday as well as some other recent photos.

Isn't Lily's ponytail so cute?!

Kristi enjoying conference from the comfort of our couch.

We are grateful for nice high definition video over the internet. We are thankful for the technology that allows us to view conference live and watch and listen to the prophets even though we live across the country.

The girls are busy bees coloring in their conference packets and
listening to conference.

Jared decided to make cinnamon rolls. He hadn't made them before so they turned out more blobish than rollish but they tasted great. Oh, the buttery, sugary, heart-clogging goodness - and that's without any frosting!
