September School Days

Not to be outdone by her big sister, Lily also started school this year. Sort-of. One morning a week she gets together with 5 friends for a mini-preschool. It's mostly just a playgroup, but there is some structure with letters of the week and themes. The 5 moms take turns hosting and Lily loves it! She is always talking about Tuesday.

These two cuties spend a lot of time together. Lily loves to hold Zach, and Zach mostly survives the love of his big sister.
Zach is five and half months and moving into the world of solid foods. He's got down rice cereal and squash so far-yummy! He's got cereal face in this picture.
This is what happens to little brothers who have big sisters who love to dress up.

Kindergarten days

Anwyn has two successful weeks of kindergarten under her belt. We leave to drive her to school bright and early at 7:20am, but she has no problem waking up to get ready. We spent most of the mornings for the last two weeks telling her "go back to bed, you don't need to be up this early!"
She is enjoying herself, but it doesn't appear too challenging. She has made some good friends: "Claire is my best friend at school". Her favorite days are when they get to do art and music. She also enjoys lunchtime (which they have at 10am since school starts so early).
After a few days of parking the van and walking her in to her class (with Lily and Zach in the stroller), she was ready for the pull-up and drop-off. That's when both Jared and I got teary eyes and lumps in our throat, watching her walk off to class all by herself.

Our sweet girl is growing up and off to conquer the world (or at least kindergarten)!
