90 miles in Florida
293 miles in Georgia
Our road trip began on Sunday, July 3rd. We loaded up the van and attended 9 a.m. sacrament meeting with our Gainesville ward, before beginning our epic journey.
We left Florida and crossed the border into Georgia. We made a quick stop at a rest stop on I-75, but we quickly got back in the van after being overtaken by bugs!
Jared was a great driver/navigator!
Our excursion for the day was the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base, near Macon, Georgia. The museum is "the second largest museum in the United States Air Force...and is a place that honors our veterans and their families and their families and reminds our Airmen of their legendary Air Force heritage".
We were happy to have someplace cool and indoors to escape the 100 degree heat. They had a great collection of planes, etc on display.
After a few more hours of driving, we reached our hotel in Flowery Branch, Georgia (which is just north of Atlanta).
The kids were excited for our first night in a hotel, and we were happy with the spacious accomodations.
