All about running!

February is a fun month with a few annual running activities.

First up was the elementary school Tiger Trot.  Zach ran with the other first graders. He was pretty fast and came in fourth or fifth place for the boys.
Lily ran well with the other third graders. She had a big group of friends participate this year.
After the race the kids had fun eating the frozen yogurt and taking repeated runs through the bounce house obstacle course.
Anwyn and Adam were great cheerleaders!

The next weekend was the Five Points of Life Kids Marathon. The kids run 25 miles on their own leading up to the event, and then they complete the last mile in a fun run together. This year Kristi got to run with Lily and Zach. Anwyn was out in front with the middle schoolers.

Before the run

 Zach and a buddy.
 Lily with her groupie.

The awards ceremony. Talbot wins again for the school with the most participants! The prize money helps to fund the morning mile program.

Medals for all after the run!

A few snapshots from the morning mile. We get to school at 7 a.m. so Lily and Zach can run laps (1.4 mile for each lap)  and collect straws for 30 minutes. They usually do 2 miles a day, give or take a lap. A lot of their friends run too, so it is a fun activity.

Adam and I go along and walk a mile. Well, I walk, and he rides along on my back.
