We had a lovely summer. After the excitement of our travels in June, I was worried the rest of the summer would seem to drag on. But the children did well with our daily routines, and we did some fun activities and had nice days.
Dressed in our Canada gear to celebrate Canada Day on July 1st.
We enjoyed the ward Fourth of July pancake breakfast. Anwyn scored an apple pie in the pie eating contest.
We visited the Florida Museum of Natural History.
We enjoyed touring the special frog exhibit at the museum.
Dress like a cow day for free dinner at Chik-fil-a!
Cute Adam in the bathtub.
Zach finished reading the seventh Harry Potter book in July.
We spent a nice day at the beach.
Anwyn went to YW camp in the Ocala National Forest for 5 nights.
She had a good time at camp, but we were sure happy to have her back home again!
The kids burned off a lot of energy jumping on the extra mattress in the living room (often with friends).
We took a field trip to the Alachua splash park.
More shenanigans on the living room mattress.
The kids had two fantastic tennis teachers from our neighborhood. Tennis was a great way to spend an hour every Monday and Wednesday morning.
We took another trip to the FLMNH to explore the new Discovery Zone.
A very quick trip to the UF art museum. Taking two-year old Adam to an art museum is a bit stressful-I felt like the security team was watching us like a hawk, ready to pounce as soon as one of the children touched something. Thankfully nobody did, mostly because I carried Adam around in my arms the entire time.
The girls each sewed a pillow this summer.
I don't have any pictures as proof, but as always we spent some time at our neighborhood pool. We usually swam a few times a week, and we are thankful to have that option. After a few sessions at the pool Adam got used to the floatie, and now he just goes wherever he likes in the pool, jumping in with no fear!
