Talbot Tiger events in February and March

On a Saturday in February the elementary school held their annual race, the Talbot Tiger Trot. We weren't exactly sure how long the race was, but probably a little over half a mile. Anwyn was pretty excited and ended up coming in first for girls in her grade. Lily is learning to like running and did a good job finishing the race. She was happy to have her good friends to run and visit with.

After the race the children had a good time doing some of the activities at the Fitness Fair: a bounce house, and obstacle/fitness course, and trying their hand at fencing. 

In March the school hosted an International Fair. We were really impressed with the event. They had information booths from over twenty countries displayed (many of them had ethnic food samples). I put together a booth about Canada. It was fun to review my Canadian history and trivia and share my experience. I stayed at the booth for the whole event, while Jared took the children around to all of the displays. 

The evening started with a performance from the Talbot Tiger Chorus. It was exciting to have that happen, since I had been involved behind the scenes this year to get the chorus started. It is for 4th-5th graders only, and Anwyn has enjoyed participating. Thankfully we got the t-shirts ordered and delivered just in time!
