Monday, January 19, was Martin Luther King, Jr day, so everyone had the day off from school and work. We decided to take advantage of the free entrance into a national park for the day offer. The only park within easy driving distance was the
Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. It is the oldest, continuously standing structure in the U.S. First a Spanish military fort, completed in 1695. It was interesting to explore.
Afterward we found a nearby beach to play at. The day was sunny, and the water was pretty cool, but the kids still loved it. They ran and splashed and fell (in their clothes) in the tide, and built in the sand. I stuck my feet in the water. I don't think Jared touched it. It is pretty nice to be able to go to the beach in January.
